Kindergarten Readiness (5 years of age)

Our Kindergarten Readiness program is designed for the Pre-K child who has missed the cut off for Kindergarten. Using the Common Core Standards for Pre-K and Kindergarten we will focus on phonemic awareness, sight words/dolch words, following multi step directions, reading and writing skills and science. We will also allow your child to explore their natural curiosity, creativity, and encourage independent thinking. There will also be time for art, free play and outdoor play (weather permitting).

Creative Curriculum General Overview:

The Creative Curriculum® is a comprehensive research-based curriculum that features exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and life-long critical thinking skills. It is designed to help educators at all levels of experience plan and implement developmentally appropriate, content-rich program for children with diverse backgrounds and skill levels. The curriculum is focused around 38 objectives for development and learning that will provide children with a well-rounded education. The objectives focus on development in the following areas; social-emotional, physical, cognitive, literacy, mathematics, science and technology, social studies, arts, and English language acquisition.

Creative Curriculum for Preschool:

The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool provides Foundations and Daily Resources to create a cohesive curriculum the supports teachers throughout the entire year. The Foundation volumes provide the knowledge base of the curriculum, including best practices and the most recent research on early childhood development. The Daily Resources support teachers throughout their day to ensure they are providing intentional and developmentally appropriate learning experiences to each child. Our materials offer time saving daily plans for teachers so they can focus the majority of their attention working with the children in their classroom. The ultimate goal of these tools is to provide a comprehensive curriculum, authentic assessment, ongoing professional development, and family connection opportunities.
