Our teachers and administrators in Hamburg and Orchard Park, NY are highly experienced in education. They continuously educate themselves on new practices in the Early Childhood Education field. In fact, they have the opportunity to travel to national conferences several times a year to learn about these new practices.

A Leap in Learning is NYS certified and a nationally recognized trainer in the field of Early Childhood Education. Our leadership takes a very active, hands-on role to ensure our children are receiving the best child care possible.

Creative Curriculum®

A Leap in Learning utilizes The Creative Curriculum®. This is a comprehensive research-based curriculum that features exploration and discovery as a way of learning; enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and life-long critical thinking skills.

The curriculum is designed to help educators plan and implement developmentally appropriate, content-rich programs for children with diverse backgrounds and skill levels. It is focused around 38 objectives for development and learning that will provide children with a well-rounded education.

The framework that guides the Creative Curriculum® has routines and experiences at its center. The routines and experiences that structure each day, and the responsive care and teaching provided during these times, are what enable children to develop secure attachment with the important people in their lives and gain confidence in themselves as learners.

Program Overview

Program Overview

Our loving caregivers will provide your infant with incredible care that you can feel good about. Your baby will be welcomed into a warm and sensory-rich environment, where they will be introduced to music, stimulating care, and vocabulary building experiences.

We cater our care to your child’s unique needs to ensure they grow and learn in a comfortable atmosphere.

Waddler Room

Waddler Room

A Leap In Learning was the very first center in the area to develop this unique program for our older infants. The Waddler Room allows for a smooth transition from infant to toddler by creating a “pit stop” along the way. Vocabulary is built through picture books, nursery rhymes, simple songs, and organized activities. Self-help skills will be encouraged as your child is introduced to serving utensils and sippy cups. Your child will also experience napping on a tiny cot as relaxing music is played while they are lulled to sleep.

Program Overview: Toddler 1 Room

Our toddler 1 room  focuses on your toddlers socialization skills in a new stimulating and engaging environment. Our teachers encourage your child’s growing language skills to communicate and express their feelings to both their teachers and classmates.

Your toddler will participate in organized activities such as circle time, art, and center-based play. Children will begin to strengthen their fine and gross motor skills and begin to master their colors and shapes.

Program Overview: Toddler 2 Room

Program Overview: Toddler 2 Room

The toddler 2 room is designed to prepare your toddler for Pre-K success. There is a focus on letter and number recognition, as well as structured center play. Circle time will last a little longer and art activities will become more intricate as your child develops stronger fine motor skills.

Communication will continue to be encouraged to allow your child to develop appropriate social skills and to explore their feelings. This helps give your child the ability to gain self-respect, self-confidence, and to problem solve.

We work diligently with parents and caregivers to ensure success for your toddler. There will be daily outside time (weather permitting) to strengthen your child’s gross motor skills.

Curriculum for Pre-K

Curriculum for Pre-K

The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool provides Foundations and Daily Resources to create a cohesive curriculum that supports teachers throughout the entire year. The Foundation volumes provide the knowledge base of the curriculum, including best practices and the most recent research on early childhood development.

The Daily Resources support teachers throughout their day to ensure they are providing intentional and developmentally appropriate learning experiences to each child. Our materials offer time-saving daily plans for teachers so they can focus the majority of their attention working with the children in their classroom. The ultimate goal of these tools is to provide a comprehensive curriculum, authentic assessment, ongoing professional development, and family connection opportunities.
